La mayoría de las personas tienen un pequeño problema al comprar un suero para la piel: no tener ni idea de lo que hacen o por qué lo necesitan; y esto puede hacer dos cosas: 1) Evitarlos; 2) Escoger los que no ayudarán a mejorar nuestras necesidades específicas.
Si eres nuevo en los sueros para la piel, esto es todo lo que necesitas saber:
A diferencia de las cremas o las mascarillas, los sueros tienen una consistencia más fina, y están específicamente formulados para penetrar profundamente en la piel, en lugar de colocarse sobre su superficie. Esto les permite corregir problemas de la piel y ofrecer resultados duraderos, por lo que son ideales para usar entre tratamientos.
El tipo de suero cutáneo que uses dependerá de los resultados que deseas.
Todos los sueros están formulados de manera diferente para ayudar con problemas específicos de la piel.
Puedes tomar en cuenta las siguientes preguntas para escoger mejor el suero que necesitas.
a) Identifica qué es lo que quieres mejorar en tu piel
b) Piensa en que un suero lo puedes usar de día, de noche o en ambas rutinas, entonces verifica si el suero que vas a llevar encaja bien con la rutina de tu preferencia. (Por ejemplo: Algunos sueros tienen una consistencia algo pesada, y muchas personas prefieren dejar este tipo de sueros para la noche), otros tienen consistencia ligera (casi como agua) y son excelentes para usar en el día.
c) Revisa que el suero que has escogido tenga “principios activos” especiales para atender la necesidad que quieres mejorar. Ejemplo: Si estás buscando mejorar el tono desigual de tu piel, hay ingredientes especializados en esa materia como la Niacinamida o el Ácido Ascórbico. Hay otros principios activos que son increíbles para otras cosas como por ejemplo el Ácido Hialurónico para la piel deshidratada y seca, la Centella Asiática, el Té Verde y otros extractos botánicos que son anti oxidantes para combatir el efecto de los radicales libres.
d) Si no sabes nada acerca de principios activos (y no tienes por qué saberlo), verifica cuáles son los beneficios que el producto dice tener, y cerciórate a través de fuentes confiables que el suero si es eficaz en dar los resultados que promete.
Hay un mito en este tema, y es que los sueros son para gente mayor o gente vieja. Muchas personas entienden lo importante que es prevenir antes que tratar, y hay muchos sueros formulados para prevenir situaciones que todos nos afectan (independientemente de nuestra edad) como por ejemplo el efecto de los agresores medio ambientales en nuestra piel.
El otro factor es que hay necesidades de la piel que aparecen independientemente de la edad que tengamos (ejemplo acné). Si tenemos una piel que sufre constantemente brotes de acné, entonces podemos desde temprano pensar en un suero que ayude a tratar este problema.
Entonces a la edad que tú identifiques algo por mejorar, estará bien que uses un suero formulado para atender esa necesidad.
Los sueros para la piel se pueden usar regularmente como parte de la rutina diurna o nocturna (incluso en ambas rutinas).
Generalmente, se utilizan con más frecuencia por la noche cuando tienes tiempo para cuidar tu piel después de un largo día, pero a muchas personas nos gusta usarlos también por la mañana, especialmente si queremos evitar el daño ocasionado por radicales libres que provienen de la radiación solar, la contaminación ambiental y otros factores.
Aunque la mayoría de los sueros son para uso diario (toda regla tiene su excepción). Hay sueros que concentran principios activos con los que toca ir probando. Por ejemplo un suero facial de Vitamina C al 21% podría ser muy agresivo para algunas pieles si se aplica diariamente. En esos casos, la persona debe ir probando cómo reacciona la piel a este tipo de principios activos que actúan también como potentes exfoliantes. En todo caso, el producto debería traer la indicación sobre la periodicidad de aplicación. ¡Siempre revisa las indicaciones del fabricante!
